Hooray!

Now all the apps from SOUNDS AROUND have been released!

From the awe-inspiring savannah to the never-ending prairie – delve into an exciting panorama of animals and sounds. Artist Kristina Heldmann has conjured up a unique world of animals in her distinctive breezy style, while singer songwriter Erik Hibbert, bellows, roars, croaks, twitters and chirps for all he’s worth. And he has a story or two to tell about all the animals! A fantastic, interactive picture book for little explorers aged between 2 and 5!

SOUNDS AROUND

The Apps

All four apps are now available for IPhone/IPad:

SOUNDS AROUND

Savanna and Prairie

The elephants snort and spray the frogs with water, the cheeky monkey pulls on the leopard’s tail – DING DONG! The lion family sees who can roar the loudest, Native Americans and an entire buffalo herd stampede past – OUCH, is that a rider falling from his horse? – and a cowboy sings a song by the campfire. With simple hand swipes, you can take a walk through the African savannah past the tree full of monkeys, all the way to the prairies of the Wild West. And you can bring 80 animals to life with the touch of a finger!

The charming scenes are accompanied by all the original animal sounds and the unmistakable voice of Erik. He effortlessly turns himself into a lion, elephant and troop of monkey and even knows the stories that cowboys tell each other around the campfire!

You can also read simple explanatory texts to find out more about the animals.

Woods and Jungle

The bears are growling, the bees are buzzing, the fox is licking its chops and wants to catch a hare, the rain is pitter-pattering, the fish are jumping, YIPPEE! cry the flying squirrels, mummy and baby gorilla love each other, the sloth yawns – but hang on, what’s that dragon doing over there?

Soon you can take a walk in the forest!

Erik turns himself into a bee, bear and parrot, and even knows how a chameleon sounds! We can’t wait for our jungle adventure – can you?

SOUNDS AROUND

Water and Ice

The dog joyfully greets the Eskimo child, the seal jumps YAP YAP! out of the hole in the ice, the polar-bear cubs frolic, the pirate ship fires off canons. But who will find the treasure? The waves lap the shore, an enormous whale swims past and sings, and the penguins somersault through the air, HURRAH!

Dive with us into the sea, from the icy polar waters to the coral reefs. We’ll even pass a crocodile and lots of flamingos!

And for this adventure, Erik has specially got himself a snorkel! He turns himself into a polar bear, flounder and flamingo, and even knows how a yellow submarine sounds!
There will be lots to see and hear!

SOUNDS AROUND

Town and Country

The pigs are rollicking in the mud, by the pond the frogs are croaking, the dragonflies and buzzing and the geese are quacking. Grandma gets a fright when the fire engine hurtles past. And is that dog taking a wee? SCOOP SCOOP, the mole is having fun, and up in the tree the birds are warbling a concert …

Soon you can take a walk on the farm, past the duck pond and into the park where the dogs are playing.

And Erik is also here again! He turns himself into a piglet, frog and fire engine, and even knows how a dung heap sounds!

But we’re not going to give away any more just yet …

Voices

What you said, wrote and tweeted to us about SOUNDS AROUND:

“I think it’s nice that there’s an app for children featuring classic painting and not just 3D computer-generated animations. I also like the different play modes.” (Anja K.)

The best thing about the app are the wonderful illustrations. (Jan F.)

The Sounds Around app is similar to a picture book. The playing time is flexible, the animations are beautiful and funny. (Christian B.)

The drawing style of the Sounds Around app is brilliant, the sounds are great, and there are no over-the-top or hectic animations! (Jenny B.)

And we came up with all this

… for our own children:

Good apps without advertising and in-app purchases!

Many thanks

The producer Quentin Bruns

saw Kristina’s illustrations and said: We’ll make an app! But that isn’t as simple as it sounds. So Quentin rounded up some very talented friends to help.
